The terrifying ad Obama does NOT want you to see…

Yeah, that’s the top of the Democratic ticket taking a page directly from the playbook of mobsters and fascists. The Obama campaign is threatening to block TV stations (whatever that means) and sic the justice department on TV stations that are running ads tying Barack Obama to his friend, neighbor and unrepentant 60’s radical William Ayers.  Source: Obama Campaign Intimidates and Threatens TV Stations Running Ayers Ad

Failing Fire Dept?

Hmmm…. On 07-27-08… Long Committee of the Whole meeting touting the wonders and success of the FD taking over ambulance service - and how great it was to work for the Sheboygan Fire Dept. etc.

So why have two employees already left?

Ref: Fire chief asks waiver to city hiring freeze

Fire Chief Jay Lastusky said one of the departing firefighter-paramedics is taking a job with Flight for Life, the Milwaukee-based medical flight service; the other will be joining the Ashwaubenon Police Department.

Now, because of the mess created with this ambulance service take over, they want to break their own hiring freeze everyone felt was a great idea.

Will they stand by their own decision? Guess we have to wait a bit longer as a vote was not able to be taken last night and a new “Special” meeting agenda was sent out today:

Dear Official:

This is to notify you that there will be a Special Meeting of the Common Council on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 6:15 p.m. in the Police Conference Room.  The purpose of the special meeting is to consider and take possible action on the following:

$50,000.00 in consulting fees…wasted

Ref:  Ideas hatched for Taylor Heights revival

The consultant talked up the possibility of creating either an event park with a hotel or conference center; a research office park with mixed use retail, or a senior residential development with close-by retail to pump up activity along Taylor Drive, which in recent years has lost a Wal-Mart, Piggly Wiggly, Sentry, and Blockbuster Video.

“… a large tract of undeveloped, private land city officials and consultants see as critical to the area’s long-term success.  The land includes pristine woods that are being envisioned as an excellent location for a festival or event grounds.”

Whoa - wait a minute.  What about those tree huggers who did so much damage to the community and cost us millions of dollars hugging the trees at Sheridan Park?  You’d better stick to your guns and hug these damn trees, too. That’s a beautiful back-drop to the entire area and would be wonderful to just leave be.
This is what $50,000.00 in consulting fees gets the city - what a waste. Sounds like they can’t wait to get in there and destroy that beautiful landscape.

And Sheboygan, with its supposed “good businessmen” on the Council - the inept council that can’t even think for the city on their own, let alone with those who know it best, who utilize the facilities, frequent the restaurants and stores and suffer the losses - we, the taxpayers.

This movie requires Flash Player 9

Tonight: Special meeting started at 5:25 PM for the Common Council. One of the issues on the agenda was to amend the hiring freeze to allow the FD to hire - makes a whole lot of sense, doesn’t it?  At the end of July they voted to enforce and “immediate hiring freeze” to go into effect.

Here is the contents of the notice:

Of course, this was amended so many times I’m not even sure if this was the last one or not any more…

Let’s remind those “powers that be” how everyone was totally in favor of this…former Press articles (archived after 7 days so no longer accessible but here are the dates and titles if someone wishes to pay for them or has the hard copies):

Editorial: City, County on right budget track Sunday Jul 27, 2008 Monday night, the council took the difficult step of an immediate hiring freeze and set a goal to reduce the tax rate.

Will they stick to their own guns for a change and NOT approve this? We’ll soon find out.

I guess the Sheboygan Fire Department hasn’t cost us enough yet.

Typo Terror

Heard a blurb about this on WHBL - Googled it and of course was led to NPR’s web site (first and last visit…).

Man Travels Country to Fixe Typo’s  (yes, that extra “e” is on their site)

Jeff Deck of Boston had seen a lot of misspellings on signs around his city, and one day he decided he just couldn’t take it anymore.

Deck cobbled together the Typo Eradication Advancement League and set off on a nationwide quest to repair the mistakes by any means necessary, including chalk and adhesive letters.

Don’t people like this have anything else to do?

Dear Dem aka “Who Cares”

A few days ago I posted an amusing albiet sickening show of Obama’s ignorace via a brief You Tube video.  See “Hey Obama, when did we get those extra states

Well, you know, like most people I went to bed to sleep last night.  Get up this morning and find a bunch of snarky posts from some dem going by the “handle”, who cares.  They were adamant I “allow” their post, in spite of the fact that this poor excuse of a person used fake e-mail addresses AND proxies to spam up my queue.  However, being fair and open minded, I thought I’d appease “who cares” and let the world see, if so inclined, ALL their snarky posts so I compiled them into a PDF.  Check it out …

This is the (incredibly low) caliber of an Obama supporter.

Another sexual predator “comes home”

Badger Blogger picked up on this one (thanks!!!) while I was busy with our latest alderman antics and mayoral mayhem. See their post: A sexual predator doing what sexual predators do for the goods.

This is something I wanted to put out here a few days ago but other matters took precendence; however, this is just another show of hypocrisy in Sheboygan.

On WHBL today, out comes this news following this revolting development that has people upset:  Alderman Proposes Sex Offender Restrictions

Just as a convicted sex offender is returning to the city of Sheboygan, there’s an ordinance in the works to restrict them. Alderman Jim Gischia had proposed the measure more than a year ago but said he waswaiting for challenges to be litigated before introducing it.    (Right!!!)

This is on the heels of the following news:

Sheboygan Police recently announced that sex offender Andrew Sarber will soon be moving in at 1125 North 14th Street.

Meanwhile, the City Plan Commission unanimously approved A DAY CARE CENTER,  “Five Stars Rainbow Childcare” opening at 1921 N. 8th St.  (View meeting minutes) I was alarmed, as I know this is not the best neighborhood in our parts so first thing I did was look to see how many registered sex offenders are near this day care center.  See for yourself:

Registered sexual offenders

THOSE DOTS ARE ALL RESIDENCES OF SEXUAL OFFENDERS NEAR THIS DAY CARE CENTER.

Did anyone bother to check this out? Doubt it.

Can anyone say hypocrits?

Alder Antics and More Mayoral Mayhem

There’s much more with a “gasp” factor going on here - this being just one discussion amongst the Sheboygan Common Council.   Bored? View it all.

NEVER BEFORE…
Never before have we needed to address this issue. Why? Because all employees in the past respected their employment agreements to such a degree they simply complied with its terms.  This entire mess lies at the feet of two people: Perez and Touger Lee because they think they need not follow the rules.

Why all this trouble for ONE employee?
Because he’s a crony of the mayor.  ( View a discussion that took place in the Spirit Forum when this all came to be… ) His position was obtained under scandal that the Press nor the local radio station ever bothered to address. The former IT Dept. Head was fired and forced to re-apply, yet never interviewed. Incredibly reliable sources also tell me that the former IT Dept. head was restricted from funds to help her run the department efficiently so as to make her appear “inept” at a job she held for gosh, I believe well over 20 years.

Subsequently, the city was sued (rightfully so) by the former IT director for discrimination etc.  ( View Notice of Claim )  The whole sad series of events was a scandalous mess kept under cover by all media outlets as well as alders.  This Notice of Claim was never shared with the taxpayers of Sheboygan.

Gosh, why do you suppose that is?

Gosh. Do you think???

IS IT ANY SURPRISE SHEBOYGAN’S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE JUMPED AGAIN“…unemployment in the city of Sheboygan jumped to nearly 7 percent of the workforce.  The city of Sheboygan last month had the 12 highest unemployment among the state’s 30 larger cities… “

SHAME ON THE MAYOR & FIFTEEN ALDERS
(Or maybe 14-1/2, since Ald. Bohren did some outstanding talking back Monday; however , in the end he did vote the way the mayor wanted him to so…)

All but one alder, that is.

Kudo’s to Alderman Wangemann for working and trying hard to make a positive, law-abiding change in our community.  It’s a refreshing change and one I literally PRAY will take root in our community because I am now fully convinced we are in a “Good vs. Evil” fight for our beloved city.  And I know for a fact Alder Wangemann loves this community.  His life’s career was here to protect and serve as a police officer PLUS he has previous experience as an alder AND knows this community inside and out as our City’s historian.  I’d say those are some pretty hefty qualifications the current “mayor” can’t even come close to.

This may sound like a shameless plug but so be it.  Aldermann Wangemann is running for mayor. IMHO, last night he showed an incredible fortitude for real leadership and desire for a truly open government. Visit his campaign web site to learn more.

He has my vote.
